Jim works with families of wealth and family enterprises on the complexities that accompany significant financial success. He helps initiate or facilitate family meetings that improve communication, manage transitions, work out conflicts, and foster successful involvement of the next generation. He also collaborates with the family’s advisors about the governance, financial, medical, or legal issues impacting the family.
Training and Education
Jim has been a pioneer in training, educating, and consulting to financial and legal advisors since the late 1990s. He provides a range of training formats. At the individual level, he is actively mentoring selected colleagues seeking to grow their skills with families or advisors. At the organizational level, he provides curriculum design related to the breadth and depth of client relationship skills needed by advisors. He also provides case consultation to advisors and family offices that help build competencies within the organization.

In his work within the UHNW Institute, he is helping build leading-edge concepts, events, and resources to enhance skills in wealth advisory firms and family offices.
